Tenth “Fast & Furious” Movie Loses Director
Justin Lin has walked away from being director in the upcoming entry into the “Fast & Furious” franchise.
Production had just commenced on the film series’ tenth instalment, titled “Fast X”, when the 50-year-old film director made the announcement via Instagram on Wednesday, 26 April.
In a post made through the franchise’s official account, Lin said: “I have made the difficult decision to step back as director of ‘Fast X’, while remaining with the project as a producer … I will forever be grateful to the amazing cast, crew and studio for their support, and for welcoming me into the FAST family.”
Lin has directed five of the “Fast” films over ten years, and many of his fanbase hold him in high regard for directing the best of the franchise. Insiders claim that his reason for the move was “creative differences” with the studio execs.
Sources say that filming will take a break while the hunt for a new director happens.
“Fast X” is slated for 19 May 2023, and insiders say they don’t expect studio execs to change their minds about this date.
